About EngineGeek

EngineGeek explains the engineering behind Formula 1 cars in plain English.

Our editorial approach

We begin with a specific question about how an F1 car works. We check technical claims against primary sources such as FIA regulations and official technical explanations, distinguish what the rules say from what we infer, and use original diagrams when they make a mechanism easier to understand.

AI may help with research organization and drafting. It is not a substitute for checking claims, source links, terminology and diagrams before publication. Articles include references so readers can inspect the underlying material.

What you will find here

Our focus is the car: power units, energy recovery, aerodynamics, tyres, braking and race engineering. We publish at a pace that allows each explainer to be checked and improved. Older articles on unrelated automotive topics remain accessible while the site is being rebuilt, but they are outside this editorial focus.

EngineGeek is independent. It is not affiliated with Formula 1, the FIA, any team or any manufacturer. If an article includes advertising or affiliate links, we will identify them clearly.
